Another show that I’m watching where I just can’t get enough of it.

Another show that I’m watching where I just can’t get enough of it.

Do you know what it feels like when something is fighting for life right in front of you and you can’t do anything to help it? Well, I do and I must say I never would’ve thought that I would feel this way over an Opossum. That’s right- a Opossum. I was sitting by the pool at my friends community with my friend and we saw a red SUV just speed down the street. I honestly didn’t think anything of it but then we saw them stop and the two men in the car walked back. They just stood around something. My friend and I decided to go check it out. Little did we know, the man hit an Opossum. The thing was, was that he didn’t finish the job. It was still alive And it was just sitting there, in a pool of its blood with blood also coming out of its ears, nose, and mouth. This thing was in terrible shape but it was still trying to move. It’s front legs were broken so it had much trouble trying to do so but it still had the drive to move from the side of the road, into someone’s driveway using only its back legs, while just dragging its front legs on the ground. The man wanted to move it so he grabbed a shovel, and scooped the helpless creature on to the grass. The men were in great confusion on what to do. They didn’t know whether to leave it or call for help. So, my friend insisted to the men, “if you want to do something to make you feel better, make the call.” the men just ended up walking away. After they left, me and my friends stayed and watched it for a good 20 minutes. Thinking the worst, we went back to our table and just talked. After about an hour and a half, I saw it, from a distance move its head so I decided to go check it out again. And after all that time, the little guy (or girl) was still alive and still trying to move. He actually moved a good 10 to 15 inches away from where he was placed. Still there, with blood slowly dripping from its nose, mouth, and eyes, just making this snorting sound as if it was trying to blow the blood out of its nose. Me and my friend stood there just looking for a good 30 minutes and we decided to call an animal rescue.

Even though it is an Opossum, a rodent, we still tried to help it. Even though it would just be put down if it were taken to a hospital, We wanted to help it soo bad.. Just the look on its face would just stop anyone in their tracks. The look of helplessness, fear, and confusion. So eventually, we called and got no answer from the place. It’s obviously closed at 2 in the fucking morning. So me and my friend just stood there, wishing we can help it, wishing that it’ll just get up and just walk away as if nothing happened but nothing of a sort occurred. So, I said a few kind words to it and wished that it would not give up and get better, and we went on our way.

It was just something like this that, once again, made me realize how life is valuable and worth living. Funny how an Opossum would make me feel this way. The little thing did not deserve to die.

So yeah, I’m done. If you actually took the time to read this, I thank you a million times.

There is a message here.

Cherish life.

Rest In Peace, little Opossum. I will remember you.
